The acquisition of JMC expands PetroSkills’ technical content and training programs, historically focused on serving engineers within the exploration and production sector, into the significantly broader facilities engineering sector. The acquisition enhances PetroSkills’ leading position in the market as energy companies seek providers with global scale, premium content, and multi-channel delivery technologies in order to meet the demands of the “Big Crew Change” and the industry’s need for ongoing safety and technical training.
“We are very excited about the integration of PetroSkills and John M. Campbell,” said J. Ford Brett, PetroSkills CEO. “Our companies have worked closely for many years, and the JMC Facilities Engineering training programs and products are industry standards. Together, we offer the petroleum industry unmatched breadth and depth of technical expertise, which we and our customers apply to developing and assuring the competence of oil and gas professionals around the world.”
Justin H. Harrison, a Managing Director at BV, said, “The acquisition of JMC is an exciting and important element of our vision to build the definitive human capital development platform serving the oil and gas industry. The combination of these two complementary companies enables PetroSkills to serve a broader segment of its customers’ workforces with a well-coordinated set of software, content, and training products. We are very pleased with PetroSkills’ progress since our investment and we look forward to continuing to build this valuable asset.”
BV invested in PetroSkills in 2010 and has since worked closely with the management team to implement organic growth initiatives, including a proprietary web-based competency assurance product and a virtual training delivery model, which have led to a significant increase in earnings over the past two years. PetroSkills is well-recognized for its breadth and quality of course offerings across an expansive set of more than 200 knowledge areas within upstream, downstream, and HSE petroleum subject disciplines. PetroSkills also provides dynamic software and information solutions that help global energy companies assess and fulfill their workforce development needs, and help oil and gas engineers and operations personnel advance their careers.
